Neurogliaform subtypes

Transcriptomic alignment of genetically fate-mapped upper-layers NGCs indicated that they are composed of two subtypes: Dock5- and Lsp1-NGCs. These two subtypes display different molecular architectures, layer distributions and intrinsic properties.

Dock5-NGCs, mainly populating L1, have an enriched NDNF expression, spike earlier than Lsp1-NGCs and display a shallow AHP. Opposedly, Lsp1-NGCs were found dispersed across cortical layers, were late spiking and displayed a deep AHP.

Below you can interrogate the differential gene expression of NGC subtypes.
